No Words To Say..

My heart reached out to say,

It’s a wonderful day,

Immediately, the mind retaliated by saying,

It’s a challenging day.

Undaunted, the heart said, “Relax, my friend,

enjoy the cup of coffee, and blend,

With its enticing aroma and exotic taste,

The mind just wanted to up it and said,

“You don’t know the dangers ahead;

Today’s the day to face the tune,

Weren’t you the one who messed up yesterday?

I paused to reflect on what had passed,

Oh, how could I have done such a foolish act?

No, I reflected, it was a must, telling myself,

“I did it with the best of intent and for growth and prosperity.”

“Did you achieve it,” asked another voice.

“No?” said the other vehemently; “he foolishly dug deeper into a dry well.”

Said another. “Aw, shut up, he meant well.”

Laughed another, “Hahaha, he’s a loser,”

Defending and attacking, they went on and on, contradicting one another.

The negatives in the mind overpowered, having the final say,

So, on that so-called “wonderful day,” a verdict was passed,

“You are a loser, now face the angry world,

You lost all you had: a lovely home and a family you called your own.

Now, know you have nowhere to go.

You played the game of love and lost, so now,

“Die a LOSER”.

I was on the brink and ready to drown myself in drugs and drink,

As I put the cup of coffee down, a voice whispered from within,

Hey, fellow, stay right here, pick up your coffee, and enjoy the rest of your drink,

For life is a unique mix of the sweet, sour and bitter,

Don’t dare separate them from each other,

Even though the voice was soft, it was clear and commanding,

And so, I picked up the magical drink.

Sipping it, I was amazed at the taste,

The bittersweet concoction was like nectar on my tongue, and as it made its way further down,

It filled my whole body with a magical glow.

I trembled as fierce resilience set in, transforming my being into accepting what is.

And then, friends, I walked on as I unlabeled the events that marked my day, making it a wonderful one.

That was when, as I looked within, I had no words to say,

For I knew it was the heart that won that very day.
